Job Description

What You'll Do

Join the Content Sourcing team to help build Avalara's next-generation Content Management Platform — the system that powers intelligent ingestion, validation, and delivery of global tax content. You'll work on modern, scalable solutions that improve how Avalara sources and maintains tax data worldwide. This is an opportunity to influence the architecture and automation of a mission-critical platform that enables compliance at global scale. You will report to the Engineering Manager.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

You'll design full-stack applications and microservices using Go, C#, React, and AWS. Each day, you'll work with engineers, product managers, and content experts to automate content ingestion, transformation, and quality validation workflows. You'll help improve system reliability, scalability, and deployment pipelines, while mentoring peers through design discussions and code reviews.


What You'll Need to be Successful

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience building production-grade applications.

  • Programming experience in Go/C#, JavaScript, and React, with understanding of REST APIs and microservice design.

  • Experience deploying and operating applications in AWS and working with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Proficiency in relational databases and Git-based source control.

  • Collaborate across engineering, product, and data teams.

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering.

  • Experience with a non-relational / noSQL database such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or DynamoDB
