Job Description

What You'll Do

Avalara is looking for a Senior Event Marketing Manager to lead third-party event programs that move measurable pipeline growth, brand visibility, and customer engagement across important go-to-market segments. You will manage strategy and planning across large-scale trade shows, ERP partner conferences, and vertical industry events — delivering integrated, data-driven experiences that convert engagement into revenue. You will oversee multi-touch event programs across digital and in-person channels, using AI and analytics to optimize performance, while collaborating with Sales, Partner Marketing, and Revenue Marketing to ensure lead follow-up and conversion.

This is a remote US-based position reporting to the Director of Events

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

A Senior Event Marketing Manager leads the strategy and planning of Avalara's third-party digital and in-person events to grow engagement, conversion, and measurable revenue impact. You will balance new event creation with the optimization of in-market motions and partner-led activations, identifying the most effective event formats, sequencing, and messaging to maximize engagement and conversion.


What You'll Need to be Successful

  • 6–8 years of B2B event marketing experience, including 5+ years managing digital and in-person event programs.
  • Experience driving revenue through large-scale, high-ROI event portfolios.
  • Experienced collaborator in partnering with Sales, Marketing Ops, and vendors to bring measurable pipeline impact.
  • Advanced project management capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • Experience in SaaS, FinTech, or tax technology industries; familiarity with ERP ecosystems and event technology platforms.

Pay Range Details


The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be
different in other locations.


Colorado $126,000 - $201,600 (annually)
Washington $126,000 - $222,800 (annually)
California $126,000 - $222,800 (annually)
NYC $139,200 - $222,800 (annually)


The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The
successful candidate’s actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic
location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, depending on
the terms of the applicable plan and the employee’s role.
