Job Description

What You'll Do

As an AI Engineer focused on AI Enablement, you will guide enterprise-wide adoption of AI tools and automation platforms that enhance productivity and operational efficiency. You'll join Avalara's Corporate IT team in the U.S., partnering with company partners to implement and manage AI solutions including ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot, n8n, and other enterprise platforms. Your work will help mature business processes and uncover new opportunities to refine operations. This will report to the Director of Global Infrastructure.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • You will develop, deploy, and maintain AI-powered solutions and workflow automations across multiple departments using platforms like n8n and Microsoft Power Automate.

  • You'll partner with teams to identify inefficient or manual processes and guide them through automation and continuous improvement.

  • You'll manage integrations across enterprise systems using APIs, apply secure identity access practices through Okta, and ensure governance and documentation for all deployed tools.

  • Daily, you'll gather requirements, deliver automations, track metrics, and support business adoption.


What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience deploying and managing AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot, or similar LLM-based platforms

  • You've built automation workflows using tools like n8n, Power Automate, and other Workflow Automation / Integration Platforms (iPaaS)

  • You're proficient in working with REST APIs and scripting logic to automate data flows between systems

  • You've configured and maintained identity and access management through Okta, including user roles and application provisioning

Pay Range Details

The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Colorado $122,300-$195,700 (annually)

Washington $122,300-$216,300 (annually)

California $122,300-$236,900 (annually)

NYC $135,100-$236,900 (annually)

The pay range above is the general base pay range for you in the state listed. Your actual salary/wage may be based on several factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and your role.
