Avalara is looking for an experienced Tax Technologist to support strategic deployments of indirect tax and global compliance solutions. We ask that you have hands-on experience implementing Avalara tax solutions, specifically within Workday ERP environments. You bring a consulting background, excels at client engagement, and is passionate about driving innovation in global tax compliance, including e-invoicing initiatives. You will be reporting to a Senior Director of Enterprise Solutions and you will not have direct reports. You will work fully remote within the United States. #LI-Remote

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Complete end-to-end implementation of Avalara's tax solutions—including AvaTax, Returns, ECM (Exemption Certificate Management)—integrated with Workday.
- Collaborate with Enterprise clients to understand their tax compliance needs and design tailored technology solutions using Avalara.
- Manage project tasks and deliverables to ensure successful implementations.
- Support both domestic and international deployments, including global VAT, GST, and e-invoicing mandates.
- Conduct solution configuration, integration testing, client training, and post-go-live support.
- Document best practices and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and implementation methodologies.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide excellent service throughout the implementation lifecycle.
What You'll Need to be Successful
You will have:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in tax technology implementation, with experience in indirect tax (sales and use/VAT) and ERP integrations.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Financials, specifically tax determination and compliance-related modules.
- 5+ years of experience implementing and integrating Avalara solutions into ERP environments. Familiarity with XML, APIs, and cloud SaaS platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CPA, PMP) or a master's degree.
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and client partners.
Pay Range Details
The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specic laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Colorado $108,100 - $218,400 [annually]
Washington $108,100 - $241,400 [annually]
California $108,100 - $264,500 [annually]
NYC $119,300 - $264,500 [annually]
