The Senior Manager of Technical Revenue Accounting will report to the Director of Revenue Accounting. You will lead the technical revenue accounting function, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) and other relevant accounting standards in the SAAS industry. You will oversee revenue recognition policies, managing complex accounting issues, and providing strategic guidance to ensure accurate financial reporting, including system recommendations to operationalize new contractual relationships or products. This is a remote position in the United States.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
Revenue Recognition Compliance and Contract Analysis:
You will ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable revenue recognition standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures.
Establish a deal desk to interpret and apply complex revenue recognition requirements to multiple contracts and transactions, including multi-year contracting, consumption models, and other unique agreements. Manage the review and conclusions of such contracts with advisors and auditors.
You will ensure systems are designed to calculate revenue for new lines of business or material new contractual arrangements that are unique in nature.
Experience with standalone selling price, contract modifications, and the systematic application of them.
Allocate transaction prices and assess variable consideration following ASC 606.
Revenue Analysis and Financial Reporting:
Review financial statements and disclosures related to revenue to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and accounting policies.
Support complex revenue analysis.
Audit and Internal Controls:
Develop internal controls over revenue recognition processes impacted by technical revenue matters.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries related to technical revenue matters.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
You will partner with Sales, Legal, Pricing, Revenue Operations, FP&A teams, and other departments to ensure accurate revenue recognition and to evaluate new or changing contract models.
You will provide integration support and technical guidance on revenue recognition matters, for acquisitions and divestitures.
Team Leadership and Development:
You will manage a team of revenue accountants, providing guidance to ensure effective performance.
Conduct training sessions on revenue recognition topics to enhance team knowledge and capabilities.
What You'll Need to be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification
7+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition and technical accounting
You have in-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
Experience with complex revenue recognition issues and contract analysis in the technology sector.
You have the ability to interpret complex accounting standards and apply them to different scenarios.
You have the ability to explain technical accounting issues to non-technical partners.
You have experience developing and mentoring accounting professionals.

Pay Range Details
The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be
different in other locations.
Colorado $132,400-$218,400 (annually)
Washington $132,400-$241,400 (annually)
California $132,400-$264,500(annually)
NYC $$160,300-$264,500 (annually)
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The
successful candidate’s actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic
location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, depending on
the terms of the applicable plan and the employee’s role.
