We’re hiring a Senior Manager to lead the Security Program Management Office (PMO) and expand their leadership across multiple strategic domains. This role is ideal for someone passionate about structured execution, driving change across a growing cybersecurity program, and collaborating across technical and non-technical functions to make measurable impact. You will report to the Deputy CSO, VP Security.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
Run the Security Program Management Office (PMO): You define and refine execution processes, track program performance, represent security in cross-functional forums, and mentor junior program staff.
Deliver Avalara Security Maturity: Ensure delivery of 32 strategic initiatives. Partner with architects and security professionals to raise Avalara’s security posture.
Support Privacy Compliance: Collaborate with Legal to develop and operationalize tools, processes, and mitigation strategies aligned with global regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Operationalize Data Lifecycle Management: Lead cross-functional efforts to integrate DLM into business and engineering workflows. Focus on reducing data risk and improving governance.
Drive IAM Strategy: You work with security and technology teams to advance scalable Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions that align with policy and mitigate identity-related risks.
What You'll Need to be Successful
Minimum of 6 years work experience leading a security-focused PMO or equivalent cross-functional program team in a technology-driven environment
Minimum of 3 years people management
Demonstrated success running programs that span privacy, identity, and data lifecycle governance
Strategic thinking with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders

The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Colorado $166,100-$274,100 (annually)
Washington $166,100-$303,100 (annually)
California $166,100-$331,900 (annually)
NYC $183,700-$331,900 (annually)
The pay range above is the general base pay range for you in the state listed. Your actual salary/wage may be based on several factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and your role.
