About the Team:
The One Returns Forms team is a crucial part of Avalara's Returns Engineering department, responsible for developing 11,000+ tax forms across domains such as Sales & Use, Telecom, and Lodging. With a team of 20+ experienced engineers, we ensure seamless, error-free tax filing, allowing the accurate processing of millions of returns and billions of dollars in transactions.
Job Summary
- You will design, test, and troubleshoot forms mapping solutions for tax compliance automation.
- You will gather tax form specifications and implement solutions in the most accurate and automated way possible.
- Working on the One Returns Forms Design team requires working with our worldwide teams to quickly overcome problems and to exceed internal and external customer expectations.
- You will report to Sr. Manager Engineering.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
Job Duties
- Analyze tax forms and tax rates to map customer data to a tax form.
- Work with both the United States and India-based team to accomplish goals set forth
- Understand the technical implementation of the tax forms, including the architecture and data model.
- Perform testing on completed work to ensure it meets Quality Assurance requirements..
- Support the Forms team in achieving their goals. Assisting the design team with research necessary for defining tax form requirements.

- Work with multiple international teams to understand processes and capture our requirements.

What You'll Need to be Successful
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate degree from accredited institution, 12+3/12+4
- Experience: 4-8 years
