The role

The Senior Partner Strategy Manager is a proven strategic operator who manages a more complex, higher-stakes portfolio of partnerships with greater autonomy. You handle multi-business-unit partners, navigate layered organizational structures, and consistently deliver commercial outcomes with minimal oversight.

At this level, you do more than execute the playbook — you shape it. You identify patterns across your book that inform how the entire PSM team operates. You mentor less experienced PSMs, model the strategic behaviors the team is building toward, and serve as a trusted escalation point when complex situations arise.

You operate within a pod alongside a Partner Experience Manager and Partner Marketing Manager, setting strategic direction and ensuring every partner has a clear growth trajectory. Your judgment is trusted, your partners are well-managed, and your peers look to you as an example of how the role should be done.

What you own

Complex partnership ownership
  • You manage a portfolio of higher-complexity partners — often multi-location, multi-business-unit organizations with layered decision-making structures.
  • You navigate competing internal priorities within partner organizations and build consensus across stakeholders to keep initiatives moving.
  • You build deep executive relationships and are trusted by partner leadership to provide candid, strategic counsel — not just product updates.
Strategic roadmap & business reviews
  • You lead business reviews that go beyond platform adoption. Your reviews connect AgVend’s capabilities to the partner’s competitive position, market dynamics, and multi-year strategic goals.
  • You bring sharper data-driven storytelling — synthesizing ROI metrics, adoption trends, and competitive benchmarks into a narrative that resonates with senior decision-makers.
  • You anticipate where a partner’s business is headed and proactively position AgVend’s roadmap to meet those needs.
Retention & expansion at scale
  • You own net revenue retention for a larger, higher-ARR book of business.
  • You identify and close more complex expansion deals — multi-driver bundles, enterprise-tier upgrades, new business units, and cross-sell opportunities that require multi-stakeholder buy-in.
  • You are comfortable leading pricing negotiations, structuring contract terms, and managing renewal timelines with confidence and commercial rigor.
Partner health & proactive risk management
  • You maintain a detailed understanding of every partnership’s health, informed by usage data, sentiment signals, stakeholder changes, and your own direct relationships.
  • You catch risk earlier than others because you’re deeper in the relationship and more attuned to organizational dynamics.
  • When intervention is needed, you assemble the right internal resources and lead the response — you don’t just flag it and wait.
Pod leadership & cross-functional orchestration
  • You set the strategic direction for your pod with clarity and consistency. Your PEM and PMM operate with high confidence because your priorities are well-communicated.
  • You orchestrate cross-functional resources across product, engineering, marketing, Nexus, and leadership with skill — knowing when and how to pull in the right people at the right time.
  • You function as the general manager of your book: every partner has a documented plan with clear milestones and accountability.
Partner change management
  • You are skilled at helping partners navigate organizational change. You coach internal champions, help structure training plans, and build the case for adoption across departments.
  • You recognize that the hardest part of platform adoption is rarely the technology — it’s the people — and you operate accordingly.
AI-augmented workflow & advocacy
  • AI tools are embedded in your daily workflow. You use Goose, Claude, and platform analytics to prepare for calls, analyze partner health, build business reviews, and eliminate repetitive tasks.
  • You actively champion AI adoption with your partners — demonstrating how tools like Goose Assist and Goose Opportunities can transform their team’s effectiveness.
  • You experiment with new AI capabilities early and share what works with the broader PSM team.
Mentorship & playbook development
  • You mentor PSMs — not through formal authority, but by modeling the right behaviors, sharing context and frameworks, and being a resource when complex situations arise.
  • You contribute to the evolution of team playbooks, processes, and tools. When you find a better way to run a business review, handle a renewal risk, or position an expansion, you codify it for others.
  • You are a trusted thought partner to leadership on how the PSM function should evolve.
