The role

The Partner Strategy Manager is the strategic owner of a portfolio of ag retail partnerships. You do not manage accounts — you drive them. You own the executive relationship, the long-term roadmap, and the commercial outcomes that determine whether a partnership grows, stagnates, or churns.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology adoption. You work with senior leaders and decision-makers at agricultural retailers to translate AgVend’s platform into measurable, lasting business value — and you use data, AI, and cross-functional resources to do it at scale.

You operate within a pod alongside a Partner Experience Manager (who owns day-to-day execution and support) and a Partner Marketing Manager (who owns adoption campaigns and communications). Your job is to set the strategic direction of the pod and keep every partner moving forward.

What you own

Partnership ownership & executive relationships
  • You are the primary strategic contact for senior leaders and executives within your assigned partners.
  • You build trust at the top, navigate complex organizational structures, and ensure AgVend is positioned as a long-term strategic partner — not a vendor.
  • You drive the relationship forward. You do not wait for partners to come to you with problems; you proactively surface opportunities, address risk, and set the agenda.
Strategic roadmap & business reviews
  • You lead structured business reviews that connect platform capabilities to each partner’s evolving goals.
  • You bring data-driven storytelling to every conversation — using ROI metrics, adoption data, and competitive benchmarks to help partners see the value they are generating and the opportunity ahead.
  • You maintain and update a strategic roadmap for each partner, informed by their business priorities, market conditions, and AgVend’s product direction.
Retention & expansion
  • You own net revenue retention across your book of business.
  • You identify and advance upsell and cross-sell opportunities — new drivers (CRM+, Loyalty & Rewards, Program Management, Grain, Energy), new business units, and higher tiers of engagement.
  • You lead pricing conversations, negotiate contract terms, and close expansion deals. You are commercially accountable.
Partner health & risk management
  • You maintain a clear, current view of the health of every partnership you manage.
  • You identify risk early — through sentiment, usage trends, stakeholder changes, and direct conversation — and build action plans to address it.
  • You mobilize your pod and internal resources (your manager, product, engineering, leadership) when a partnership requires intervention.
Pod leadership & cross-functional orchestration
  • You set the strategic direction for your pod. Your PEM and PMM look to you for priorities and partner context.
  • You orchestrate cross-functional resources — product demos, engineering escalations, executive engagement, Nexus and manufacturer alignment — to deliver outcomes for your partners.
  • You act as the general manager of your book: every partner has a plan, every plan has a timeline, and every timeline has accountability.
Partner change management
  • You coach partners through organizational change. Selling a product is not enough — you help partners build internal buy-in, train their teams, and embed new workflows into daily operations.
  • You understand that adoption is a change management challenge, not a feature enablement exercise.
AI-augmented workflow
  • You use AI tools (Goose, Claude, platform analytics) as part of your daily workflow to prepare for calls, analyze partner data, draft business reviews, and automate repetitive tasks.
  • You champion AI adoption with your partners — helping them see how tools like Goose Assist, Goose Opportunities, and CRM+ intelligence can transform their team’s effectiveness.
  • You continuously look for ways to automate low-value work so you can spend more time on strategic, high-impact activities.
