Your Role at Impact:

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing and interpreting large and complex datasets to identify patterns and trends, develop insights and provide data-driven recommendations to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data analysis, reporting and forecasting with the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders ranging from associate to executive level.

The Senior Data Analyst will fulfill a key role in the development and expansion of a strong data analytics competency, with special focus on developing data and reporting outputs aligned with key business objectives across the organization. The Analyst will be a contributing member of the analytics center of excellence and help drive adoption of industry best practices relating to data analytics and visualization.

What You'll Do:

  • Extract and analyze data from various sources including relational databases (mySQL, postgres), big data technologies (BigQuery, Kudu, Impala, SingleStore, Hive), file sources (parquet, ORC, avro, csv, xlsx) and reporting systems (Looker, DOMO)
  • Identify, create and maintain master datasets
  • Lead data stewardship initiatives
  • Clean and manipulate data to ensure high quality and integrity of reporting outputs
  • Drive adoption of data mart and reporting outputs in the broader organization
  • Contribute to and compile technical specifications for new data assets (marts, tables, views, cubes)
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers and ETL developers to close the gap between stakeholders’ data needs and development efforts
  • Analyze source systems and help identify business logic embedded in the underlying datasets
  • Use statistical techniques to identify trends and derive patterns and insights embedded in the data
  • Identify and communicate data quality and data validation issues in productionalized datasets
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to present a rich narrative driven by data analysis findings
  • Become the point person and subject matter expert with regard to data assets produced and maintained by the data mart squad
  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards and reports to support business decisions
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis to determine suitability of a data source for use in data marts and reporting outputs or to assess key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
  • Staying up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends in data analysis
  • Mentor and train junior colleagues
  • Review junior colleagues’ work and ensure it is fit for purpose and audience appropriate
  • Stay abreast of and advocate for industry best practices with regard to data analysis, data stewardship and data visualization
  • Actively participate in the hiring process and performance management of team members

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in a data analysis, business intelligence or data engineering role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Python and SQL coding skills
  • Strong data analysis and data visualization skills
  • Experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and integrated technologies preferred
  • Experience with DataBricks, PySpark and BigQuery highly advantageous
  • Expert data wrangler (data cleaning, manipulation and preparation)
  • Experience leading teams or projects
  • Experience with machine learning libraries, tools and protocols (supervised & unsupervised learning)
  • Experience with standard statistical modeling and forecasting methodologies
  • Experience with no-sql data systems beneficial (HBase, Redis, Kafka)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SSRS/SSAS, Looker or QlikView
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience working in the marketing technology industry beneficial
