Affinity is a relationship intelligence platform that helps dealmakers find, manage, and close more deals by leveraging the power of their network. We use technology to amplify human relationships by providing data and insights that enable people to connect and take action with confidence.

As a Staff Product Designer at Affinity, you'll have the opportunity to set the direction for how we tackle our hardest, most ambiguous product challenges, and to raise the bar for how the whole design team designs for them. You'll be working on complex, data-rich SaaS products, and you'll be one of the people the team looks to when a problem doesn't have a clear brief yet.

We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our small, growing design team. This is a senior IC role. You won't have direct reports, but you'll have real influence over how we design, how we research, and how we think about AI-augmented product surfaces.

In this role, we are looking for a true generalist who has run the entire product design lifecycle many times over and is ready to set the standard for it. You will fully own your research and help the rest of the team build that same self-sufficiency, from discovery and customer interviews through usability testing and synthesis. You will then turn ambiguous, high-stakes problems into elegant, high-fidelity user experiences. As we continue to push the boundaries of relationship intelligence, you will define our point of view on AI-augmented product surfaces, building the frameworks and patterns other designers rely on for trust, explainability, and non-deterministic data. We want a designer who isn't just comfortable designing for AI, but who is also excited to use AI and modern design tools, including front-end code or vibe-coding, to prototype fast enough to remove ambiguity for engineering.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is excited to roll up their sleeves, tackle our most ambiguous problems, and shape the design culture here at Affinity.

What you’ll do:

  • Set design direction and craft standards for a broader domain or strategic initiative, not just a single product area, partnering with the Senior Director of Product Design on where design should place its bets over the next several quarters.

  • Take on the most ambiguous problems on the roadmap, the ones without a clear research question or product direction yet, and figure out how to approach them.

  • Build a clear point of view on how we design for AI-augmented experiences in relationship intelligence, and turn that into frameworks and patterns that other designers can build on.

  • Raise the bar for research rigor across the team. Pair with PMs and other designers on discovery and synthesis, and help the team build the muscle to be self-sufficient researchers.

  • Push the craft bar in critiques and use your judgment to know when something needs another pass and when it's ready to ship.

  • Prototype at a level that removes ambiguity for engineering, using front-end code or AI tools to test ideas fast and communicate intent precisely.

  • Earn trust and influence with product and engineering leadership, even without formal authority, so design has a real seat at the table on strategic decisions.

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of professional product design experience, with a track record of leading design for complex, data-rich products end-to-end.

  • Proven ability to define and drive design strategy for an ambiguous, multi-quarter initiative, not just execute against a defined brief.

  • Deep experience designing for AI-native or AI-augmented products.

  • A self-sufficient researcher who has also made the people around them better researchers, through mentorship, review, or building shared practices.

  • Real comfort working at the intersection of design and code. You've shipped things using front-end development or AI-assisted or vibe-coding tools, not just prototyped with them.

  • Exceptional visual craft and taste, along with the judgment to know when polish matters most and when speed matters more.

  • Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to build alignment across your build team and with stakeholders on ambiguous, high-stakes decisions.

How we work:

Our culture is a key part of how we operate as well as our hiring process:

  • We iterate quickly. As such, you must be comfortable embracing ambiguity, be able to cut through it and deliver incremental value to our customers each sprint.

  • We are candid, transparent, and speak our minds while simultaneously caring personally with each person we interact with.

  • We make data-driven decisions and make the best decision for the moment based on the information available.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every qualification. At Affinity, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role, but your past experience doesn’t perfectly align with the qualifications above, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

Join us in enabling every professional on the planet to succeed by harnessing the power of their relationships.

What you'll enjoy at Affinity:

  • Retirement Planning: We offer an RRSP plan to help you plan for your future.

  • Wellness Support: We reimburse monthly for things like home internet, meals, and wellness memberships/equipment to support your overall health and happiness.

At Affinity, we may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of our recruitment process to help screen and evaluate candidate applications. We are committed to fair and transparent hiring practices, and our AI tools are regularly monitored to ensure they support - not replace - human judgment.
